Federer wins singles and mixed in Perth

Roger Federer rules in Perth!

The Swiss Maestro had another convincing performance at the Hopman Cup when opposed to Karen Khachanov. The Russian showed off a fantastic tennis, and Roger had to play his best game to defeat the Russian 6-3 7-6 (8). Federer blinked only in the very first game when he dropped his service, but then he bounced back to win the opener in 29 minutes. The couple when toe to toe in the second set, and the world no.2 found the solution only at the very end to conquer a tense breaker at 8.

Experience helped. FEDERER

Soon after the match, Roger commented

”I had to work hard, experience helps sometimes. It’s good to be free-swinging and young like he is. I remember those days …”

Soon after Belinda Bencic won a tough match against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1 3-6 6-3 to give the decisive point to the Swiss. The Roger and Belinda also won the dead rubber (mixed doubles) 4-3 (1) 3-4 (3) 4-1.

On Thursday the Swiss team will take on the USA for a place in the final. That will be interesting!
