Serena Williams is back!
The American sensation is finally back on court after she gave birth to a wonderful baby girl. Serena faced Jelena Ostapenko in an exhibition match in Abu Dhabi to test her preparation as she aims at defending the title at the Australian Open.
Eventually, Serena lost 6-2 3-6 10-5, but she was still very happy to be back in court to comment
“I’m excited. It’s good to be back on the court. This was such a good time for me. First matches back are always super-incredibly hard, especially after having a baby. It was great. I was glad I could do it here.”
Nice seeing her back!
“[Serena] was always my idol when I was growing up…and really love the way she plays,” said #Ostapenko, who was 2 when Serena Williams started her Slam winning spree at the 1999 #USOpen. pic.twitter.com/eYEa6lrX1k
