They were laughing at me when I said I wanted to qualify for London. ZVEREV

Sascha shares an interesting insight about his 2017.

Sascha Zverev had a fantastic 2017 after he won 2 Master ATP1000 in Rome and Montreal (along with 3 more events) and he qualified for the ATP Finals. The German sensation ended the season as world no.4 after reaching a world no.3 in November.

Sascha is currently in Perth where he will play the Hopman Cup. Last year he defeated Roger Federer at this event and that was probably a good confidence boost for the following months.

Talking to the media in Perth, Sascha said that he doesn’t want to disclose his main goal of the season (of course we believe that that is winning a slam), but he talked about a funny situation he had to face in 2017.

“I’ve got a goal in my mind for this year that both me and my team know about. I had one last year that I didn’t tell the media about until I achieved it. It was to make London as a top eight player. Some people thought I was crazy when I said that at the beginning of the year,” he commented

My team definitely wasn’t saying it was impossible, but they were laughing a bit about it. I do have a goal for this year, but I’m keeping it to myself for now.”

Never laugh about dreams!
