Auger Aliassime to skip Australian Open after being injured training with Federer

The Canadian has to miss the first slam of the year.

Felix Auger Aliassime is one of the most interesting prospects in the tennis world alongside his great friend Denis Shapovalov.

Now ranked world no.162, the Canadian had the fantastic opportunity to train with the great Roger Federer in Dubai in the offseason, but eventually that turned out to be not as fantastic as he expected after he got injured during a training session. Unfortunately, that injury will prevent him from playing the Australian Open.

The communicate

Feliz released the following communicate on the social media

“Hi Everyone, I am sad to announce that I won’t be able to start my season in Australia because of a knee injury that occurred to me during practice earlier this week.

My team and I judged that it would be safer to skip the Australian Open to start the 2018 healthy.

I will be back on court as soon as I can.
