A few days ago, Marat Safin came out with a rather harsh statement about the state of tennis saying that if Federer and Nadal are still leading after so many years, something is wrong with the sport.
After this statement, when asked about the next big one that will succeed the duo, Safin answered: Alexander Zverev.
Why Zverev is the next one
Marat commented
“For me, Zverev, I think.
Plus he has a good coach, Ferrero. He was a good player and has done good work with him. He is number four in the world so that he can manage, so let’s see. The rest [of the young players], we’ll wait for next year.”
Yes, let’s wait and see.
