At 36 years of age, Roger Federer has done (sort of) everything in his life… he used to be also vegetarian!
Why Roger was vegetarian
During a recent interview with the CoopZeitung, Roger confessed
“At the junior tournaments you do not always have the best meat on the plate, so I gave up the meat until I was about 16.
In 1998 I joined the Swiss Davis Cup team for the first time. That was against the Czech Republic, and I was still the water carrier for the team. When we were sitting in a steakhouse, I ordered rice and salad. Marc Rosset thought I was joking: “Hey, Roger, this is a steakhouse here, you cannot just eat greens!”
“So, he ordered ten small pieces of different meats. Half of it tasted very good to me. Since then I eat meat again. I got to know fish through Mirka. At first, I did not like the pure taste of fish, but it quickly changed due to the many great sauces.”
This is another thing that you probably didn’t know about Roger…
