Top25 and 1 title, the target of Shapovalov in 2018

Denis Shapovalov is probably the most exciting upcoming players on tour. At just 18 years of age, in 2017 he has won 2 challengers, he reached the semifinal in Montreal and the 4th round at the US Open (coming straight from the qualifications). Currently ranked no.51, the young Canadian has clear targets for 2018: top25 and 1 ATP title.

What Denis said

During the ceremony in London when Shapovalov got 2 awards as the Star of Tomorrow and the Most Improved Player of the Year, Denis commented

“I definitely want to win an ATP World Tour title next year and finish in the Top 25, if everything goes well. It’s incredible my whole team has put in so much effort. I’m gonna go down to train in Florida.

My forehand is my big weapon, but it has to improve, My slice has to improve, volleys. Make sure my steps are sharp. The second part of the season, it was difficult, running through some difficult draws, losing my rhythm. Towards the end, at the #NextGen Finals, I felt my game coming back even though I lost to Rublev.”

With his weapons and his attitude, he can definitely do that.
