Hyeon Chung and Andrey Rublev are the finalists for the inaugural Next Gen finals.
Chung
Hyeon defeats Daniil Medvedev in a roller coaster in the semis after edging the Russian in 5 sets 4-1 4-1 3-4 (4) 1-4 4-0. This means that the South Korean reaches the final without having lost a single match during the competition.
Rublev
Andrey had a much easier life in the other semifinal against Borna Coric after he won 4-1 4-3 (6) 4-1. The Russian will try now to avenge his Round Robin defeat against Chung.
Head to head
Chung and Rublev have played twice at pro-level. The head to head is 2-0 for the Asian that has recently demolished Andrey in the Round Robin in Milan 4-0 4-1 4-3 (1). It’s impossible to predict who will win this one. They cannot consider it as visiting a free casino to win the hefty prize money of $390,000 (the winner). By the way, the loser will still get $235,000. No bad.
