Shapovalov wins the Most Improved Player of the Year award

At 18 years of age, Denis Shapovalov is one of the hottest prospects in tennis, and his ascent has been recognized by his peers that voted him the Most Improved Player of the Year.

The Canadian started his 2017 as world no.250 to end the season in the 51st place. This year, Denis won the challengers in Drummondville and Gatineau; later, he hit the headlines after an amazing run at the ATP1000 in Montreal where he reached the semifinals after defeating Del Potro and Nada. Subsequently, Shapovalov reached the 4th round at the US Open coming straight from the qualifications after beating Tsonga and fellow rising star Medvedev.

Denis was also named the 2017 ATP Star of Tomorrow as the youngest player in the Top 100. The Canadian will receive the trophies in London during the finals on Saturday the 18th of November.

That’s a good start for a very promising career.
