Alexander Zverev world no.3, Thiem no.4, Dimitrov no.6

There are huge movements in the rankings after Paris

We had a sort of earthquake at the top of the rankings this Monday. In fact, besides the obvious movements in the rankings following the last Master ATP1000 of the season (Bercy), some players have dropped the points they gained during the 2016 ATP Finals. Therefore with Djokovic and Murray collapsing, many other players have reached important career highs.

Zverev

Even if Sascha is visibly tired after a long and extremely successful season, the 20-year-old is 1 place up in the rankings to be the new world no.3. He is still extremely far from Roger Federer (ranked no.2), but this is still a magnificent achievement.

Thiem

Dominic is in a situation similar to Sascha’s. He is extremely tired, and he has won only 2 of the last 8 matches in the last few months. Still, Dominic takes full advantage of the movements in the rankings to go up 2 places and be the new world no.4 (career high).

Dimitrov

Grigor also goes up 2 places in the rankings to be now the new world no.6 (career high). If he outperforms Cilic at the upcoming ATP Finals, he can end the season as world no.5.

Goffin

David also gains 2 places even if he lost in the 3rd round in Paris to reach a new career high (no.8). If he has a decent run in London, he should overtake Wawrinka to end the season as world no.7.

Sock

Jack won an improbable ATP1000 title in Paris to gain 13 places in the rankings and be the new world no.9 (career high). Since Wawrinka will not compete in the ATP Finals (knee injury), the American has clinched the last spot in London.

Krajinovic

Filip was the big surprise of the recent ATP1000 in Paris. The Serb has struggled for his entire career to even stay in the top100 to be 1 step away to win the all thing in France. After reaching the final In Bercy, he gained 44 places to be ranked no.33.
