Shapovalov, Rublev in the same group. NEXT GEN FINALS

After a rather controversial ceremony (see article), we have finally the draws of the Next Gen Finals. The format is the same as the “traditional finals” with 2 groups. The first two players of each group will qualify for the semis.

Group A

2 of the most exciting Next Gen players, Shapovalov and Rublev, ended in the group A with Chung and Quinzi (the Italian wildcard). The Canadian and the Russian are the clear favorite to qualify for the semifinals.

Group B

This group is completely even with Khachanov, Coric, Donaldson, and Medvedev.

This event will feature many innovations as follows

Shorter Format

First to Four games sets (Tie-Break at 3-All), Best-of-Five sets, with No-Ad scoring

No-Let Rule

The serve will not be repeated if the ball touches the net.

No lines judges

The calls will be done only electronically by the hawk-eye.

Shot Clock

There will be a clock that will impose the 25 seconds rule strictly in between the serves.

Player Coaching

Coaching will be allowed after each set.

Crowd-free  movement

The crowd can move around during the match except for the baseline.

The tournament will commence on Tuesday.
