Sock wins the title in Paris to qualify for London

Jack Sock wins the title in Paris!

The American ends a huge drought for American tennis as the last time that one of his compatriots won an ATP1000 was back in 2010 when Andy Roddick won the ATP1000 in Miami after defeating Berdych in the final.

Jack Sock achieved this feat after winning an “improbable” tournament with many outsiders reaching the final stage of the event. Jack defeated the world no.77 Filip Krajinovic in the final 5-7 6-4 6-1.

I want to enjoy it with my team. SOCK

Soon after the match, an emotional Jack Sock commented

“It definitely hasn’t sunk in yet. I don’t know when it will. Right now I want to enjoy it with my team. They’ve been with me through everything. I’m excited to see my family and just enjoy it with everyone.

I’d be lying if I said that 18 months ago I was mentally prepared to win matches like this. It’s something I’ve worked really hard towards. It’s something that, if you put your nose down and keep fighting, good things will happen. Crazy things can happen. That’s sports, and that’s why we play.”

After this title, the 4th of his career and the 3rd of the season, Jack has qualified for the ATP Finals in London. Is good to have an American at the last event of the year.
