Drake finally sends his congratulations to Bianca Andreescu

Three days after winning the trophy, Andreescu became one of the guests on the “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” When she was asked who she has not heard from yet since her victory, she joked that she is waiting for a message from fellow Canadian Drake.

Less than a day after the interview, Drake made it up to her by apologizing for his late congratulations. Andreescu said that Drake messaged her and liked every post that had her in it to make it up to her. It is also worth to notice that in the past rake was romantically linked to Serena Williams that was defeated by Bianca in the US Open final.

Apart from Drake, other Canadian personalities also sent Andreescu congratulatory notes. Toronto, Mississauga shower Andreescu with praise

Once she fulfilled her contractual responsibilities after her win, Andreescu continued her victory lap in her home country of Canada. Her home town of Mississauga and neighboring city Toronto welcomed her warmly. In fact, officials for both cities offered to stage big events for Andreescu.

In the case of Mississauga, the city officials have not reached out to her directly yet but she did say that is open to attending the event. The city council also passed motions to celebrate Andreescu’s achievement. Not only will she be getting a key to the city, Mississauga will also rename a tennis court and a street in her honor.

Toronto, on the other hand, plans to organize a large parade in her honor. People expect the size and reach of the parade to be as huge as the one done for the Toronto Raptors when they clinched the NBA championship earlier this summer.
