Caroline Wozniacki keeps on demolishing players after players in Singapore. After beating Elina Svitolina 6-2 6-0 in her first match, on Wednesday the Dane defeats the world no.1 Simona Halep 6-0 6-2. The Romanian managed to win just 9 points against Caroline in an opening set that lasted only 24 minutes to then capitulate after 63 minutes.

After the match, Caroline commented
“I thought I played really well. I felt comfortable and played aggressive when I needed to and ran the balls down when I needed to.”

Simona wasn’t happy at all with her performance to comment
“I think it was one of my bad days. I made too many mistakes, and she didn’t miss. I did some good shots, good points, and I missed too many to win a match.
After the first set, in the second set, I felt that I can come back a little bit at 4-2 – it was a good game, but it was too late.”
Caroline is now commanding the Red Group, and she will definitely qualify for the semifinals. Simona needs to have a strong performance against Elina Svitolina if she wants to qualify for the final 4.
