TOO GOOD. Zverev will not play the NEXTGEN finals

There has been a debate for the last few months if Sascha Zverev would have played both the Nextgen finals (7-11 Nov) and the traditional World Tour Finals (12-19 Nov) as he qualified for both. At first the German said he wanted to play both, but eventually, he pulled out from the Next Gen finals to focus the “proper ones.”

The communicate

Sascha released the following communicate

“I have consulted with my team, and in order to best prepare for London, we have made the decision that it is best not to play the week before in Milan.

Therefore, sadly, I will be withdrawing from the Next Gen ATP Finals. However, I still plan on making an appearance at the beginning of the event to support the tournament and show my appreciation for my fans in Italy that were so supportive during my win in Rome earlier this year.”

 

 

About the Next Gen finals

The Next Gen finals will be played by the top players aged 21 and under. The payers that have qualified are: Andrey Rublev, Karen Khachanov, Daniil Medvedev, Denis Shapovalov, Jared Donaldson, Borna Coric, Hyeon Chung, and the winner of an Italian under-21 event will get a wildcard.
