Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have played another fantastic final in Shanghai, and once again it was the Swiss to win the contest.  

After this win, Roger gets closer to Rafa in the 2017 rankings to shrink the gap between him and his rival to 1960pts. Nadal’s lead is still sizeable, but the Swiss may have a shot at the no.1 rank if he has an amazing end of the season. In fact, potentially, Roger may conquer 3000pts if he wins Basel, Bercy, and the Finals (that’s quite optimistic though) while Nadal will probably skip Basel and maybe also Paris.

Interesting enough, after Shanghai, there are so significative movements in the 2017 rankings with the exception of Cilic overtaking Dimitrov to grab the 5^th spot.
