Federer demolishes Nadal to win the title in Shanghai

Shanghai, China.  Surprising stuff in Shanghai as Roger Federer annihilates Rafael Nadal after playing a fantastic tennis in the final. The world no.2 was not supposed to have an easy ride against the Spaniard that was playing an ominous tennis for the past 2 weeks in China where he won the title in Beijing, and he reached the final in Shanghai playing at an extremely high level.

The final

From the very beginning, Nadal didn’t look as mobile as usual; he also had his right knee heavily strapped, and he was struggling in doing some lateral movements; on the other side of the court, Federer was at his very best not to concede anything to his old-time rival.

The match went immediately to the right direction for the Swiss that broke Rafa in the very first game (1-0). Then Federer conceded only 4 points on his serve in the first set to win the opener 6-4.

The second set was pretty similar with Roger dropping only 4 more points on serve, and he broke Nadal twice in the 5th (3-2) and the last game. The final score was 6-4 6-3 and the match ended after only 72 minutes.

This is Roger’s 94th career title, the 6th of 2010, and he has now an amazing 5 matches winning streak against Nadal. Time to go for more?

WINNING AND WINNING AGAIN
