The Spaniard admitted how difficult it has been to watch his rivals compete while he remains sidelined. “I’m following the results from home, watching my rivals compete in tournaments that I wish I could be playing, but can’t. Everything happens for a reason. I believe it’s destiny, and that life has something special waiting for me when I return, something beautiful,” Alcaraz said.
Setbacks and missed tournaments
The world number two has already confirmed he will not play Wimbledon, after missing much of the clay season including Roland Garros. His injury has forced him to adopt a cautious approach, prioritizing long‑term recovery over short‑term risks.
No official return date
There is still no confirmed timeline for his comeback. Alcaraz revealed that he feels better than a few weeks ago, but he has not yet resumed training with the racket. The sense remains that patience will be required before he can return to competition.
Coping with adversity
Despite the frustration, Alcaraz is determined to stay motivated. “What drives me is going every day to the court or the gym giving my best, and then seeing the fruits of hard work when I compete. When I was 14 I wasn’t patient, I wanted everything immediately. Over time I understood you have to enjoy the journey,” he explained.
Message to the younger generation
The Spaniard also shared advice for young athletes. “Dream big, throw yourselves into things with enthusiasm and enjoy the journey. Whatever happens, whether you succeed or not,” he said, underlining the importance of resilience and passion.
Alcaraz’s words reflect both the difficulty of his current situation and his belief that perseverance will eventually lead him back to the top level of tennis.
