GOAT RACE. Why Nadal will have more slams than Federer according to Uncle Toni

Nadal the GOAT

Rafael Nadal will have more majors than Roger Federer. This is what Uncle Toni thinks about this exciting race between Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic. It is widely and arguably believed that that player with most slams is the one that deserves to be considered as the GOAT (The Greatest Of All Time). For this reason, even if the Big3 and Serena try to play down the significance of being the leaders in terms of majors, they are all very focussed in racing to win as many slams as possible.

Who has more slams?

At the moment, it’s Roger Federer to hold more slams (20), followed by Nadal (19), and Djokovic (16). However, age is becoming a huge factor as it is not clear how much Federer still has to play at 38 years of age.

Rafa is 33, but he has been through a lot of physical problems, and there is always the sensation that he is 1 injury away from retirement. However, people have been talking about a possible doomsday for Rafa for ages, but the Spanish sensation keeps on coming back in style.

At 32 years of age, Djokovic seems to be the one with the best chances to break Federer’s record. However, he had a disastrous American summer, and he got a nasty injury to his left should and it seems that he needs a prolonged rest to recover from this.

Federer will win more slams, but Nadal will be the number 1

Uncle Toni, Rafa’s former and long-time coach, believes that the King of Clay will lead the so-called “GOAT RACE.”

Even if Toni acknowledges that Federer is the GOAT, talking to the El Toro TV, the Spaniard commented: “I think that Rafael will [have more majors than everyone else]. Federer will have more than 20 slams. It’s not easy, but his [Rafa’s] excitement and physical and mental strength can let him be competitive next year.”
