Shapovalov breaks in the top50, Kyrgios out of the top20

Denis Shapovalov didn’t play last week in Japan, but some movements in the rankings helped him to break in the top50 for the first time (now world no.50). The Canadian will try to improve his position this week in Shanghai where he was granted a wildcard to play the prestigious ATP1000. Shapovalov is already playing the tennis of a top20 player.

Kyrgios

Nick had a great week in Beijing where he reached the final before losing to Rafael Nadal. The Australian lost 2 positions in the rankings because he couldn’t defend the 500 points that he gained last year after he won the ATP500 in Tokyo.  Kyrgios is now outside of the top20 (world no.21). He is expected to get back in the top20 after Shanghai.

Nadal

After winning Beijing, Rafa has opened up an important gap over the world no.2 Roger Federer as he is now leading his rival by 2,370 points. This means that he has huge chances to end the year as the world no.1
