Bye Bye London for Dimitrov, Murray wins and qualifies

Andy Murray qualifies for London leaving Dimitrov behind. The two players had a rather different season. Andy had many problems lot at the beginning and he started to shine soon after the US Open winning 2 back to back tournaments (Vienna and Valencia). Grigor had a rather good start winning Acapulco, Bucharest and the tournament at Queens, but soon after Toronto he has been having a miserable year end to miss the season finale after some poor results.

Andy defeated Grigor 6-3 6-3 without breaking a sweat in Paris’ third round. The Scott played one of his best tennis of the year while Grigor looked to be already on vacation. The match ended after only 69 minutes the Murray in full control from the beginning till the end. Match Stats

Murray: I played well from start to finish

Andy is finally happy on how he is playing “I didn’t have any of them today. I played well from start to finish. I made it very difficult for Grigor. I hardly made any mistakes at all throughout the match.  There were no ‘downs’ really in the match. In some of the matches that I’ve had against the top, top players, I’ve had some periods in the match where my level had dropped off a little bit, and the best players capitalize on those moments.”

The quarters vs. Djokovic

Murray will play Djokovic for a place in the semifinal. Head to head is 14-8 for Nole, but giving the actual fitness that Murray has achieved he may well upset the Serbian. Game on!
