MATURE. Kyrgios roars to the Cincinnati final

Nick Kyrgios is 1 step away from winning his first ATP1000 master in Cincinnati.

The Australian no.1 had another mature performance in the US against David Ferrer in the semifinal to beat the Spaniard after winning two tiebreaks 7-6 (3) 7-6 (4) in 2 hours and 4 minutes.

Why it was a tough match. KYRGIOS

In the post-match press conference, Nick commented

“He was a nightmare to play, especially because I’m a tall guy and he’s not the tallest guy. He hits the ball pretty flat. The whole time there is nothing shoulder height for me to hit. I’m always trying to hit underneath and trying to hit up and over it.

It’s a tough matchup for me. I thought today I didn’t play my best tennis. I certainly didn’t serve great during the set. In the tie-breaks, I served well, but I definitely didn’t bring my best tennis today. I’m just really proud that I managed to scrap out the win.”

The final vs. Dimitrov

Nick will face Grigor Dimitrov in the final. The head to head is 1-0 for the Bulgarian. It’s impossible to say who is the favorite for this title.
