Professional tennis players are continuously required to change locations every week to participate in the various events around the world. Sometimes this is not that pleasant, and something scary happened to Simona last week.
What happened?
Simona had to travel from Toronto to Cincinnati to participate in her next tournament. In order to do that, the world no.2 had to fly on a small airplane that didn’t seem to be that great. Then Simona explained
“When I saw the plane the first time, I was scared. It was too small. We had to stop in Buffalo for the customs. I said that was enough.
I was white. I felt I had no air. I said, ‘That’s enough for me.’ That plane was moving too much. I wanted to be safe on the ground.”
Eventually, Simona opted for renting a car and driving from Buffalo to Cincinnati with her coach Darren Cahil. She arrived safely at the destination. About flying again, Simona answered
“A big plane yes. A small one no. Never again.”
