Zverev wins the title in Washington

Sascha Zverev has won his 4th title of the season after beating Kevin Anderson in the Washington final. The 20-year-old has a full collection in 2017 now with 1 ATP1000 in Rome, 1 ATP500 in Washington, 2 ATP250 in Montpellier and Munich.

Sascha was great in the final against the South African in DC to break his opponent twice per set without conceding a single break point in the entire match. With the exception of the last game of the first set, Zverev held all his service games at love or 15. The final score was 6-4 6-4.

Happy I can win these tournaments. ZVEREV

Soon after the match, Sascha commented

“I think I improved a lot in the last few months and in this off-season so I can be able to win these kinds of tournaments. I showed in Rome, and I’m showing it here again. I just hope I can continue playing well like this or even make it better in the summer. We’ll see what the next few big tournaments hold for me.”

The German will now head to Montreal where he is on a collision course with Kyrgios and Nadal. He won’t be scared about that!
