Ageless Federer reaches the Wimbledon final

It’s official: Roger Federer doesn’t age, and he is “priming” again!

The Swiss sensation beats an excellent Tomas Berdych in a high-quality semi-final in Wimbledon.

The Match

The Swiss Maestro played tennis out of this world especially in the first part of the first set when the only mistake he has done was not to grab a sizeable lead over his opponent. Even if Roger was playing 2 categories above Berdych, the Czech was great in hanging there. Federer was in full steam to break Tomas in the 5th game, but then when it seemed evident that the Maestro would have won the set without problems, he dropped his serve (4-4), and the affair went to the breaker that Roger won at 4.

Once again, even if Roger had the upper hand also in the second set, Berdych was great in holding serve, and every went to a second tiebreak. Federer got a decisive 5-1 lead to get clinch the tiebreak at 4.

Berdych looked doomed in the third set, and it was expected that the Czech would have folded, but once again he refused to do that. Tomas dropped his serve only in the 7th game before the Swiss won the encounter 7-6 (4) 7-6 (4) 6-4.

This is Roger’s 11th Wimbledon final and he is chasing his 8th title at the SW19.

The key to winning the semi-final. FEDERER

Roger explained what was the key for him to win this semi-final. The Swiss commented

“I was able to come up with the goods when it mattered… I played good in the ‘breakers… I never played with any sense of panic, which is so important when it gets to crunch time.”

The final vs. Cilic

Roger will face Marin Cilic in the final. The head to head is 6-1 for Roger, that beat Marin in the last year’s Wimbledon quarters after coming back from a 0-2 sets deficit. Roger is the obvious favorite, but Marin is playing really well.

This is going to be a fantastic final.
