This year we had a lot of controversy in Wimbledon for the court allocation, and we need to say that they haven’t been flawless. Andy Murray and Angelique Kerber have already made it public their discontent, and now it’s time for Jelena Ostapenko to talk.
I was surprised. OSTAPENKO
The Latvian wasn’t impressed for being relegated to an outside court (and she was right) in her match against Elina Svitolina, Alona commented
“I think I deserve to play on a better court than No 12 Court.
Elina is the World No 4 so I think our match was a very interesting match for people to watch. I don’t like when I play, and nobody’s watching the match or only a very few people. It’s not fun. So, I thought we would play on a bigger court.”
Today Jelena will face Venus Williams on center court. That is a more appropriate location!
Keep hearing Ostapenko is griping about her court assignments. I love this. “I’m a Grand Slam champ, dammit. No one puts me in the corner.”

Ostapenko most outspoken so far about court assignments. Very surprised to be on Court 12 as the last Slam champ vs #4 Svitolina. #Wimbledon
