Lendl: “You need to put consistent work for consistent results”

Ivan Lendl has managed to help once again Andy Murray to get back a Roland Garros semifinal.

The world no.1 was in rather poor conditions at the beginning of his French Open campaign, but with some hard work and his incredible grit, the Briton managed to put the things in the right place.

You need to put consistent work for consistent results. LENDL

During an interview on Thursday as reported by The Guardian, Ivan commented

“You have to put in consistent work to have consistent results; you have three illnesses and an injury which take you out for some time, you start again. You get going, and you get ill or injured again, then you start again and again and again. It’s very difficult mentally for the player.

It’s nice that Andy’s healthy and he can put the practices in – and I think the results are starting to come. I had a few injuries or have been ill at the wrong time of the year when I needed to do a training block. It happens.

With the exception of the first two or three days, when he had a bit of flu, he has been putting in great work. He scraped through the first two matches, and then the work started to come in.”

Andy will play on Friday the semifinal against Stan Wawrinka. Let’s see if this hard work will help him once again.
