
The Miami Beach community came together at Sunset Padel on December 14, 2025, for a touching ceremony in memory of Miami Beach Police Department motor unit officer Sergeant David Cajuso, who sadly died while performing his duties. Together with community activists and local officials, Sunset Padel proprietors Chris Paciello and Rafi Gibly planned the tournament, fostering a potent moment of solidarity and giving.
Assistance to the Cajuso family
Eileen Cajuso, the widow of Sergeant Cajuso, received more than $165,000 from the fundraising effort to sustain herself and their three young children. The community’s dedication to supporting the family during this trying time was evident in the tremendous reaction.
Athletes and leaders present
Important people from all around Miami attended the ceremony, including Wayne A. Jones, Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, and well-known athletes. Their attendance demonstrated the sacrifice made by Sergeant Cajuso and the widespread desire to remember him.

A Pro-Am padel match brought together professionals and amateurs in a spirit of camaraderie and unity as the evening came to an end. The match was more than simply a game; it was a demonstration of empathy and teamwork, guaranteeing that Sergeant Cajuso’s legacy will live on in Miami Beach for many years to come.
