This week, Ork City will open a brand-new sports and wellness center. On Wednesday, December 17, The Hive, a modern facility devoted to padel tennis—a sport that has swiftly grown to be one of Ireland’s most well-liked active hobbies—will open its doors on Monahan Road.
Investment and change
Quintas Capital has announced plans to spend €2.27 million in The Hive, converting a 19,000-square-foot warehouse into an indoor padel club with five courts. The location will have first-rate facilities such retail stores, social places, rehabilitation rooms, wellness areas, and a cafe. The project’s concept was outlined by Kevin Canning, CEO of Quintas Capital: “We believe The Hive is more than a venue – it’s a long-term investment in Cork’s community and lifestyle.”
Emphasis on lifestyle and community
The Hive wants to develop into more than just a gym. The Hive’s Rory Dennis emphasized the overarching objective: “We have always aimed to offer something special to Cork. a location where people can relocate, interact, and feel like they belong. We are now certain that, with Quintas Capital’s support, we can construct a facility that raises the bar for social life, wellness, and sports in the city.
Increasing the sport’s reach throughout Cork
Padel players in Cork now have to go to Carrigtwohill in order to participate in the game. With the arrival of The Hive, both experienced players and novices will have a convenient, central location. To ensure community accessibility, reservations will be made via a specialized app and website. There are currently plans to build other courts throughout the county outside of the city, and three different applicants want to bring the sport even farther into Rebel County.
An important milestone in the development of padel in Ireland was reached with the opening of The Hive. With significant funding, state-of-the-art facilities, and an emphasis on community, Cork is establishing itself as a padel and wellness hub, providing locals with a fresh opportunity to keep active, make connections, and prosper.
