According to the International Padel Federation (FIP), 35 million individuals play padel at least once a week, continuing the sport’s spectacular global growth. Europe makes up 61% of weekly players, followed by South America (19%), Central and North America (7.7%), Asia (6.8%), Africa (4.9%), and Oceania (a tiny percentage), according to the FIP World Padel Report 2025.

Club and facility growth

Padel clubs have proliferated globally in response to growing demand. With 4,775 new facilities created, the report projects 24,627 clubs worldwide, a 16.1% rise from the year before. South America (21.5%), Asia (7.0%), Africa (4.7%), Central and North America (4.5%), and Oceania (0.1%) are the next two regions with the most clubs, followed by Europe (62.3%). With 4,575 clubs, Spain is still in first place, ahead of Argentina (3,100) and Italy (3,795).

Global court expansion

There are now 77,355 courts, with 17,300 in Spain, 10,220 in Italy, and 7,000 in Argentina. The average number of courts per facility worldwide is 3.1. At 3.8, Oceania has the greatest ratio, followed by Europe (3.3), Africa (3), Asia and South America (2.7), and Central and North America (3.6). While Venezuela, Ecuador, Panama, and Colombia are growing quickly throughout the Americas, France, Great Britain, and Germany are propelling expansion in Europe.

Growing levels of professionalism

Additionally, Padel’s professional side is growing. The number of federated licenses has increased to 850,000, a 42% increase from 2024. Of the registered players, 60% are men and 40% are women. In 2024, 3,539 players from 78 countries participated at the elite level; 71% of them were men and 29% were women. With 2,327 elite players, Europe leads the world, while Spain has 1,278 professionals.

A growing sport
