Muguruza getting more confidence in Paris

Garbine Muguruza didn’t have the best stint of her career after she won the French Open in 2016. The Spanish no.1 is trying to bounce back again at the French Open where she has just reached the 4th round after defeating Yulia Putinseva 7-5 6-2 after a tough match.

The more I  play, the more confidence I get. MUGURUZA

In the post-match press conference, Garbine commented

“I’m happy I went out there without any kind of fear. I wanted the match. I tried just to do what I had to do and keep that during the whole match.

I was not thinking a lot because it’s, you know, a lot of thinking in this tournament for me in the matches and stuff, so I try to go out there and block everything and just think about what I have to do to win.

The more matches I play – and tough victories – I think it gives you self-confidence, a successful feeling out there.”

Next vs. Mladenovic

Garbine will face home favorite and die-hard Kiki Mladenovic in the 4th round. The head to head is 1-0 for the Frenchwoman that could be the favorite to get to the quarters. Garbine will disagree with that.
