Marin Cilic ends a fantastic week in Istanbul after he won the title without dropping a single set during the entire event.
Cilic won the final against Raonic with a 7-6 (3) 6-3 score line. The Croatian was generally much superior to the Canadian as he won 90 points vs. Milos’ 70.
The tiebreak was the critical moment
After the match, Marin commented
“The critical points came in the tie-break. I managed to play a really good tie-break and hit a few great backhands down the line. Then in the second set, getting that break and holding for 3-1 was definitely the deciding moment.”
Cilic will not go to Madrid where he will face either Alexander Zverev or Verdasco in his opener.
