Federer, Nadal among the most active players on Tour

Federer and Nadal are extremely active despite some criticism about their commitment to the tour.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal

There is an ongoing talk that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in a way “damage” the tour for not playing enough. This criticism comes mainly from some tournaments directors that sometimes struggle to attract the Swiss and the Spaniard that are well-known for being a huge magnet for fans.

Both tennis legends are right to preserve their bodies to extend their career as much as they can.Β However, if you have a closer look at the 2019 stats you will see that Roger and Rafa are among the players that have more matches under their belts. Rafa is “ranked” no.5 in this log with 49 matches while Roger is no.10 with 47 matches.

Federer is well aware of that. In fact, when asked if he had enough matches ahead of his campaign in Cincinnati he said that he had already 45 matches in the year and that was definitely enough for him.

Medvedev and Tsitsipas topping the list

Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are trading places in the top10. The Russian has just leapfrogged, the Greek, Kei Nishikori and Sascha Zverev to be the new world n.5 while Stefanos is now no.8.

The Russian and the Greek are now stable in the top10 and they also share the interesting record of being the players with the most matches under their belt. In fact, Daniil played 59 times while Stefanos has already competed in 56 matches.

Here the log.
