IMMENSE. Federer beat Nadal to win Miami

Roger Federer rules!

This season is just about the incredible performance and the amazing results that Roger Federer is achieving after his comeback. Roger has already impressed after winning the Australian Open to then stun the tennis community following his triumphs in Indian Wells and Miami.

Roger had an extremely tough run in Florida where he defeated top players such as Del Potro, an in-form Berdych, an outstanding Kyrgios, and his [previous] nemesis Rafael Nadal. The Maestro survived death against Berdych (he saved two consecutive match points in the third-set breaker) and against Kyrgios.

The final

Even if Rafael Nadal is the guy that has caused the most damages to Roger’s career, it seems that the Swiss has finally found the solution against his nemesis. The Maestro was coming from a three matches winning streak against the Mallorcan, and he was confident he could make it four in Miami.

The final against Rafa was a hard-fought battle especially in the first set when most of the games were resolved after the deuces. Roger found the decisive break in the 8th game (5-3) before winning the opener 6-3.

The second set was much faster with most of the games resolved quickly (at love or 15); once again, Roger found the solution (i.e., the decisive break) only at the very end (9th game) before winning the contest 6-3 6-4 after 94 minutes.

My comeback is over. FEDERER

After the match, Roger commented

“The comeback is over. I’m happy that nothing major happened throughout this period. It’s been a dream run on the court, off the court as well. My body has reacted very well, and I couldn’t be happier, of course.

Let’s see how the knee is going to feel in Australia. How is the body going to be in the Middle East? How is the body going to be West Coast, East Coast?

There is a lot of traveling, and the knee can act funny when you travel and fly transatlantic and all that stuff. It’s not like I went home and all I did is take a warm shower. I had to do a lot of stretching, massage, and sleep well… I needed to be very professional to wake up every morning and be ready to compete.”

This is Roger’s 91st career title and his 26th ATP1000. Going for much more.
