Nadal beats Fognini to reach the Miami final

Rafael Nadal is completing his comeback in Miami!

The Spanish Legend has already impressed in Melbourne where he missed his 15th slam at the photo finish in the final against Federer. Afterward, Rafa reached the final in Acapulco, and now he got to another prestigious final in Miami.

Rafa had a fantastic run in Florida as he joined the final after dropping just one set during the entire event (OK, that was a curious 6-0).

The Mallorcan was extremely sharp in the semi-final against Fognini. After winning the first set 6-1, he had to battle a bit in the second set to conquer the decisive break only in the 11th game. Eventually, Nadal won the match 6-4 7-5 and he scored 76 points vs. Fognini’s 50. The match lasted just 90 minutes.

This is Rafa’s fifth final in Miami, he has never won this tournament so far.

Serving well was key. NADAL

During the interview soon after the match, Rafa commented

“My serve worked well. I think I didn’t face a break point during the whole match, so that is something that I am very happy with. That gives you calm when you have opportunities on the return, and you don’t convert.”

The final vs. Federer

Rafa will play Roger Federer in the final.

The head to head is 23-13 for Rafa, but Roger has won the last three matches.

Game on.
