Johanna Konta is back to her tremendous standards. The Briton defeats Pauline Parmentier in the Miami 3rd round in style. Jo had to fight only in the first part of the opening set; then, from a 2-3 scoreline, Konta conquered 10 of following 11 games to win the contest 6-4 6-0. The world no.11 had an incredible run in the second set when she conceded just 5 points.

After the match, Jo acknowledged that the first set was tight. The British no.1 commented
“I’m happy to have come through that (first part of the match). Although the scoreline doesn’t show it in the second set, I still had to work hard to every single point. I really tried hard not to take my foot off the gas and stay focused on what I wanted to achieve.”

Jo will play the world no.72 Lara Arruabarrena for a place in the quarters. They have never played each other so far.
