Jo-Wilfried Tsonga decided to skip the Miami Open to attend the birth of his first child. According to reports, Noura El Shewk, Jo’s girlfriend, already gave birth.
No Davis Cup?
According to Tsonga’s coach Loic Courteau, Jo-Wilfried may skip the upcoming Davis Cup tie against Team GB ( 7th-9th of April) to stay with his new-born.
Corteau commented
“Jo could want to stay with her because it is their first child, something I completely understand. But Jo also told us that he wants to play. The deadline to announce nominees will be next Tuesday. Meanwhile, congratulations Jo!”
That Davis Cup tie will probably miss also Andy Murray on the other side.
