Nick has to pay a huge fine after his antics in Cincinnati. See how the fine was calculated,

Nick Kyrgios huge fine

Nick Kyrgios had one of his moments on Wednesday when he was unable to contain his nerves during his match against Karen Khachanov that he lost 6-7 7-6 6-2.

Why Kyrgios lost his nerves?

The umpire of the match was Fergus Murphy that has a not-so-good history against the erratic Australian. Kyrgios was not pleased with him, and he couldn’t contain his frustration, especially after losing the second set.

The world no.27 did all sort of things during the match to even call the umpire a “fucking tool” and a “potato.” After losing the 2nd set, he pretended to take a bathroom break to leave the court with 2 rackets and smash them before coming back without even thinking about having a proper toilet break.”

The fine and why so much

Eventually, the Australian received a gigantic fine of $113,000.

This was the official statement from the ATP:

“Following his second-round loss at the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati on Wednesday night, Nick Kyrgios was fined $113,000.

In addition to the on site fines announced today, the ATP is looking further into what happened during and immediately after the match to see if additional action is warranted under the Player Major Offense section of the code.

That could result in an additional fine and/or suspension.”

This is how the fine was calculated:

-Ball abuse: Warning
-Unsportsmanlike conduct: $20,000
-Leaving the court: $3,000
-Audible obscenity: $5,000
