
After nearly two decades on the professional circuit, Vasek Pospisil has announced his retirement from tennis. The 34-year-old Canadian will play his final tournament next week in front of a home crowd at the National Bank Open in Toronto.
Eighteen Years of Dedication
Pospisil’s career has spanned 18 years of highs, challenges, and unforgettable moments. He rose to a career-high singles ranking of world No. 25 in 2014 and found success in doubles, including winning Wimbledon in 2014 with Jack Sock. His efforts have consistently contributed to Canada’s reputation in global tennis.
Vasek Pospisil has won seven ATP doubles titles during his career. His most notable victory came at Wimbledon in 2014, where he partnered with Jack Sock to defeat the legendary Bryan brothers in a thrilling five-set final. He also claimed the Indian Wells Masters title in 2015, again with Sock, marking another standout achievement.
Vasek Pospisil has not won any ATP singles titles during his professional career. He reached three tour-level singles finals: Washington in 2014, Montpellier in 2020, and Sofia in 2020, finishing as runner-up in each. His highest singles ranking was world No. 25 in January 2014.
