Kyrgios wastes 2 MPs to crash out in Chengdu opener

Nick Kyrgios had a rather dreadful experience in China.

Seeded no.2, the Australian crashed out in the opener against Kevin Anderson after failing to convert two consecutive match points.

The key moment was the 2nd set breaker: after winning the first set, Kyrgios had to consecutive match points when he was leading 6-4. Eventually, the Australian couldn’t   hold to lose four consecutive points and the 2nd set. After winning the first game in the decider, Nick imploded soon after to lose three consecutive games and the match. The final score was 3-6 7-6 (6) 6-2.

Next vs. Troicki

Anderson will play Troicki in the quarters. The head to head is 2-1 for the South African.
