Sascha Zverev is doing everything he can to get back to his best standards after an extremely complicated year that was plagued by many personal problems. After winning the ATP Finals following back to back wins against Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, the world no.5 was involved in a nasty lawsuit with his (now former) agent Patricio Apey and the split with his girlfriend Olya Sharipova (that reappeared in his box in Stuttgart). All of this affected Sascha’s tennis with the German being unable to win any big title this year.
Fortunately, it seems that everything is coming together for Sascha and apparently he is also finding an agreement with Apey.
Is Sascha Zverev going to split with Ivan Lendl?
Sascha is currently in Hamburg where he is about to start his campaign at the upcoming ATP500 in his hometown. However, on Thursday, Zverev told the reporters that he is not entirely happy with his current coach Ivan Lendl to say:
“Sometimes we go on the practice court. The training is over two hours and for half an hour he stands with his back to me and tells me about his round of golf.” Zverev added that Ivan’s main topics were “golf and his little dog.”
Recently also Boris Becker criticized Ivan Lendl saying that part of the Zverev’s lack of success in slams is due to his coach. Is Boris going to replace him?
