Novak Djokovic had a fantastic run in Wimbledon especially after he won the final after saving 2 championship points against an in-form Roger Federer. The world no.1 has completely recovered his form after it seemed as he lost his way during the Sunshine Doubles (Indian Wells and Miami) where he lost early in both events.
Djokovic the favorite at the Flushing Meadows
During a recent interview with COPE and Radio Marca, Toni Nadal was asked about the recent Wimbledon final and the favorite to win the US Open.
Toni commented: “Today, I see Djokovic as the favourite for the US Open because he’s won Wimbledon and the Australian Open, but the three are very close.”
About Nadal losing to Federer in Wimbledon
Toni added:
“I said that Nadal would come close at Wimbledon because he won in Rome and Roland Garros, and was in a great place mentally. He didn’t play his best tennis in the semi-finals, he wasn’t like he was on other days.”
