Melbourne, Australia – Rising French tennis star Luca van Assche has withdrawn from the Australian Open due to an injury. The 20-year-old, who was set to compete in the qualifications, announced his withdrawal on Instagram, citing the need to focus on his recovery.
Van Assche, currently ranked 128th in the world, was scheduled to face Russia’s Alibek Kachmazov in the first round of qualifications. However, after sustaining an injury, he decided to withdraw to avoid further risk. “I will now focus on my recovery to come back stronger,” van Assche stated in his post.
