Kei Nishikori is still on his way to winning a medal in Rio.
The Japanese no.1 dismissed Slovakia’s Andrej Martin 6-2 6-2 in Rio. Kei had to battle hard to adjust to a very strong wind that is making things a bit challenging at the current Olympic Games.
Next vs. Monfils
Nishikori will have a tough quarter against an in-form Gael Monfils to comment “The feeling is I’ve finally reached the quarterfinals and the real battle starts next.”
The head to head is 2-0 for the Japanese that has recently defeated Gael 4-6 6-3 7-6 (3) in the quarters in Miami 2016.
