On December 14, 2024, the Carlos Alcaraz Foundation officially opened its “Los Pies en la Tierra” (Ones Feet on the Ground) exhibition in Murcia, Spain. The event took place at the historic Carcel Vieja building, and it was attended by Carlos Alcaraz himself, along with his aunt Beatriz Garfia, the foundation’s director, and Jose Ballesta, the mayor of Murcia.
The exhibition aims to highlight the importance of equal opportunities for children. Through the story of Alcaraz’s own childhood, the exhibition emphasizes that many children face obstacles that hinder their development and condition the rest of their lives. Alcaraz, who grew up in El Palmar, Murcia, shared his experiences of a normal childhood, filled with sports and dreams, without any luxuries.
Beatriz Garfia, the foundation’s director, stated that the goal of the exhibition is to raise awareness about the challenges faced by children in difficult circumstances. She emphasized that every small gesture counts and can make a difference in children’s lives.
The exhibition is designed to be interactive and engaging for visitors of all ages. It includes video games, activities, questions, and some of Alcaraz’s most important trophies. Visitors also have the opportunity to see surprise items donated by Alcaraz himself.
After cutting the ribbon, which was symbolically hanging over a tennis net, Alcaraz led a guided tour of the exhibition, along with his family. The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025.
The “Los Pies en la Tierra” exhibition is a heartfelt initiative by the Carlos Alcaraz Foundation to inspire and support children in need, reminding us all of the importance of giving back to the community.
