Raducanu: I Can Become One Of The Best Athletes Out There In Tennis

Emma Raducanu has enlisted renowned fitness coach Yutaka Nakamura to boost her physical durability and aim for athletic supremacy on the WTA Tour. Struggling with injuries since her 2021 US Open triumph, Raducanu has faced setbacks, including surgeries and a recent foot issue, prompting her collaboration with Nakamura, known for his work with Maria Sharapova and Naomi Osaka.

Raducanu expressed her ambitions, saying, “I think he is going to help me just really explore how far I can go, athletically. I think it’s a big strength of mine that I have nowhere near fulfilled. I think I can become one of the best athletes out there in tennis.”

Working alongside head coach Nick Cavaday, Raducanu’s 2025 season will begin at the Auckland Open starting December 30. Before heading to Auckland, she plans to train in Brisbane to acclimate to warmer conditions, explaining, “I still wanted the heat, so I’m going to go to Brisbane for a week.”

Ranked No. 59 in the world, Raducanu is eager to leave her injury struggles behind and make a strong start to the new season.
