Match Report, stats, and key facts
1st set.
Yastremska had a racing start in this set after breaking Golubic in the 2nd game (2-0). However, that wasn’t sufficient for the Ukrainian to win the set as Golubic succeeded in breaking back in the 3rd (1-2), in the 5th (3-2) and in the 7th (5-2) game. Yastremska kept her cool to break Golubic in the 8th (3-5), in the 10th (5-5) and in the 12th (7-5) game.
Golubic was not able to offer any resistance in the last 5 games of the set (from 2-5 to 7-5)
Anyhow also Viktorija won 5 consecutive games from 0-2 to 5-2
2nd set.
The set was pretty even as both sides managed to hold the serve. The only difference was 1 break that the Ukrainian conquered in the 4th game (3-1) before winning the set (6-3).
At the end of the match, Yastremska scored 88 points vs. Viktorija’s 74 points.
Yastremska wasn’t that great in converting her break points as she converted only 42% (5/12).
On the other side, the Swiss was battling in converting her break points since she converted only 30% of her break points (3/10). That was one of the key issues for her loss.
After this encounter, the head to head between Yastremska and Golubic is 3-0 for Dayana.
