The president of the Italian tennis federation says Sinner is one of the honest athletes in the world

The Court of Arbitration of Sport has yet to make a decision regarding Jannik Sinner's doping investigation. A doping scandal engulfed the Italian tennis player during the US Open 2024 victory.

The outcome of the Court of Arbitration of Sport’s investigation into Jannik Sinner’s doping is still pending. While winning the US Open 2024, the Italian tennis player was embroiled in a doping scandal. An independent tribunal accepted his defense that the test results were impacted by accidental contamination, preventing him from being banned despite the fact that he had tested positive for an anabolic agent twice in March.

However, WADA then requested a new investigation from the CAS in September and asked for a one- to two-year period of ineligibility.

The case has already been won in the court of public opinion, according to Angelo Binaghi, president of the Italian tennis federation.

Binaghi recently said in an interview: “Apart from a few imbeciles, people all around the world understand what happened. No matter what type of decision is issued, there’s no doubt that Sinner is one of the cleanest and most honest athletes in world sport. We’re confident that whenever the verdict is issued, he will be completely cleared.”

Sinner, who is competing at the ATP Finals right now, will face Daniil Medvedev on Friday. The first Italian player to reach the top spot in the ATP rankings, Sinner is currently ranked as the World No. 1. He has four Masters 1000 titles and 17 ATP Tour singles titles, including two Grand Slams (2024 Australian Open and 2024 US Open).
