Carlos Alcaraz has openly discussed the toll that an intense 2024 season has taken on him. Speaking candidly, he acknowledged the challenges of maintaining peak performance, admitting, “I dare to say that every player is tired mentally. If someone says that he is fresh, he is lying,” he said with a smile.

The young Spaniard, who has faced an exhausting schedule and a series of high-stakes matches, explained how difficult it can be to stay mentally sharp. “Since the beginning of the year, you’re accumulating hours, days,” he said, describing the relentless travel and lack of rest periods. “It’s kind of like you finish one week or a swing, you only have two or three days off, then you have to go to other tournaments across the world.”

Alcaraz, however, feels that he has managed the pressure better than in previous years. “This year, I’m much better than last year, but I have to find a way to perform and deliver good tennis while mentally tired,” he stated.

With an intense season almost complete, Alcaraz’s honesty highlights the challenges faced by players in an increasingly demanding sport, where recovery time is limited, and the physical and mental pressures are immense.
