Swiatek to play the WTA Finals after skipping all the tournaments since the US Open

Iga Swiatek has reconsidered her decision to skip the Billie Jean King Cup Finals. Swiatek, who had not participated in the tournament the year before, was left off of Poland's squad when the teams were announced last month.

Regarding her choice to skip the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, Iga Swiatek has changed her mind.

When the teams were revealed last month, Poland’s squad did not include Swiatek, a player who had not attended the tournament the previous year. However, she has now declared that she will be attending the World Cup of Women’s Tennis in Malaga to represent her nation.

Since losing in the quarterfinals of the US Open, Swiatek has not participated in any matches. After firing her three-year relationship with Tomasz Wiktorowski and bringing on Fissette, she skipped the Asian swing to get used to the changes in her coaching camp.

The world No. 2 will play again at the WTA Finals next month. She has now declared that she will represent Poland at the BJK Cup Finals, which was previously thought to be her final tournament of the year.

Swiatek’s dominance is coming to an end, and Aryna Sabalenka is the most recent player to top the WTA rankings.

In an attempt to overcome fatigue and find a new head coach, the Pole was penalized points for missing the six WTA 500 events that were required of her.

She recently wrote on X: “See you in Malaga! I’m happy to announce that I will play in the BJKC Finals. I’m glad that I’ll play for my country and proudly represent Poland. Together with Team Poland, we will give our best on the court. I hope you’ll watch and support us. See you soon.”
